On Monday 20th May, Zen Luxury Hair Extensions, a leading name in premium hair extensions, participated in their second year of The Fellowship Project Extend, a fabulous event fostering the talents of aspiring hairstylists. Held at the expansive warehouse Sloane House Studios in Essex, which is pre-fitted with 4 - zone photoshoot and content creation decor, the event provided a vibrant space for learning, collaboration, and social media practical knowledge skills.
A Creative Playground for Rising Stars
Project Extend brought together five talented students, some traveling as far as Scotland, to participate in a day filled with learning and hands-on experience. The theme of the project centred around the newly launched Zen Hair SERENE Collection. These luxurious, LS+ Quality 100% human hair ponytails and clip-in sets were the perfect canvas for students to showcase their session styling techniques.
Knowledge & Inspiration: A Winning Combination
The day kicked off with a warm welcome and introductions, followed by a fascinating company history presented by Zen's Managing DirectorJohnny Yip. Zen's Head of Education Simon Stainton then took the stage, delving into comprehensive product knowledge across all Zen Hair systems – Tape, U-tip, I-tip, nano-tips, nano weft, ponytails, and clip-ins. This informative session was further enriched by a discussion on the latest industry trends and the Zen product range, showcasing the exceptional quality and versatility of their extensions.
From Learning to Creating: A Collaborative Effort
The arrival of two models marked the beginning of the hands-on experience. Split into two working teams, each team was tasked with creating both ponytail and clip-in styles using the SERENE Collection. Discussions about the models and styling plans ensued, followed by a productive session of fitting and styling with the invaluable support of Zen mentors and Zen staff, which included Livia and Shannon.
Fueling Creativity and Social Media Savvy
A delightful finger buffet lunch provided a welcome break before students tackled the afternoon challenge: generating social media content. Armed with their stunning creations and newfound confidence, students captured reels showcasing their work. The Zen team provided guidance and encouragement, empowering students to post their creations live on their own social media channels.
A Day of Growth and Connection
The event culminated in a celebratory group photo, farewells, and a special goodie bag for each attendee. Each student received a full-colour ring and a Zen trade account pack, offering an enticing 20% discount as they embark on their professional journeys.
This Project Extend was a resounding success for both Zen Hair and the participating students. It served as a launchpad for creative expression, fostered knowledge exchange, and highlighted the power of social media in the hairdressing industry. Zen looks forward to seeing these talented individuals blossom when take the Fellowship stage at HAIRCON in the June.
Johnny summarised the experience:Â "Project Extend offers a fantastic platform for us to connect with the future of our industry.
